Poetry Corner.

26 Oct

Tomorrow is the 99th anniversary of Dylan Thomas’ birth. You may be familiar with the name, you may not be. I for one, am very familiar, as my secondary school put on a production of Under Milk Wood, where I got to play the role of Mrs Ogmore-Pritchard. Do read up on her, as it was an utterly fantastic part to be cast in and still makes me smile when I think about it.

From October the 27th 2013, all the way through to October the 27th 2014, Dylan Thomas 100 are going to be celebrating him via the medium of sharing his work.

Their most ingenious idea at the moment is getting people to Vine themselves reading a line of Dylan Thomas’ poetry, which will then be added to the other lines from that poem, which will then be added to other poems to make a massive collection of voices reading out his work. Pretty neat, huh?

There’s still time to get involved, as they’ll be collecting clips all throughout the next year. So give them your voice and six seconds of your time. It’s really that easy.

So...what do you think?
